El premio Golden Heart de RWA se otorga a los mimebros inéditos de RWA. El certamen atrae la atención de la comunidad editorial al trabajo de una escritora no publicada.
Cada año, centenares de escritora románticas que todavía no han publicado sus escrito participan en el premio. En la eliminatoria, cada obra presentada es leída y juzgada por cinco miembros de RWA. La ronda final es evaluada por editores cuya editorial se dedica a la publicación del género. Muchos de los finalistas del Golden Heart venden sus novelas como resultado de la presentación de su trabajo en este certamen. El premio se concede en la Conferencia anual de RWA al igual que los premios RITA de RWA
